At the very heart of the Cowane is our 120-seat theatre: a space to perform, create, share, or simply try something out.

From small-scale productions and one-person shows to concerts, lectures, panel discussions and presentations, it’s a flexible space that can adapt to what you have in mind. And when there’s no audience? It’s just as at home hosting a rehearsal, class or your next band call.

The stage sits at ground level with a mix of floor-level and raked seating bringing the audience close to the action. Our standard layout includes space for a wheelchair user and companion, with flexibility to accommodate additional wheelchair users where required.

And if you’re bringing a performance to life, we can help with that too. Technical packages are available covering lighting and sound, with our team on hand to talk through what you need; whether everything is already planned down to the last cue or you’re still exploring what’s possible.
